What is a review worth?

By Nicholas Cabel The 60-second version lives on Instagram

A review is worth real money, not just goodwill. Your star rating, your review count, and how you reply all move whether someone picks you over the next option.

In plain English

Think of your star rating as a price tag other people wrote for you. A higher one lets you charge more and still win the booking.

Earn better stars three ways

01

Ask right after the good moment

Request the review while the experience is still fresh, not weeks later.

02

Reply to every review

A thoughtful reply, good or bad, shows future customers someone is home.

03

Never buy fake ones

Fabricated reviews get caught and the trust damage outlasts the temporary boost.

Worth remembering

A Harvard study on Yelp found one extra star lifts revenue 5 to 9% for independent restaurants.

That is one star, not five, moving revenue by nearly a tenth. For a small business, that is the difference between a good month and a slow one.

What to do about it

A stronger review pipeline starts with a website built to display and request them well. Get a free website audit and I will show you where reviews should live on your site.
