An AI answer is less like an oracle and more like a very fast student summarizing the sources in front of it. If your page is one of those sources, you get mentioned. If it is not, you simply do not exist in the answer.
How to make your page easy to quote
Answer the actual question
Say it plainly, in text, the way a customer would ask it, so a model can lift the answer cleanly.
Put the answer near the top
Do not bury it under intros; the sooner the answer appears, the easier it is to quote.
Be specific
Real prices, hours, and facts get quoted far more often than vague marketing language.
Worth remembering
When AI answers, barely 1% of people click through to check the source.
That means if your page is not THE source the AI quotes, you are invisible to nearly everyone who asked. Being quotable matters more now, not less.
