Logo vs brand: what's the difference?

By Nicholas Cabel The 60-second version lives on Instagram

People use logo and brand as if they mean the same thing, but they do not. Your logo is one piece: the mark. Your brand is everything under the water, the colors, the words, and how you make people feel. The logo is the tip of the iceberg.

In plain English

A logo is a person's face; a brand is their whole personality, how they dress, how they speak, how you feel after meeting them. You can recognize the face, but it is the personality that makes you trust and remember them.

Three things to know

01

The logo is one piece

It is a single mark, useful for recognition, but it is not the whole story.

02

The brand is the whole feeling

Colors, voice, and the entire experience add up to what people actually remember about you.

03

Consistency makes it stick

Showing up the same way everywhere is what turns scattered impressions into recognition.

Worth remembering

Presenting your brand consistently can lift revenue by around 33%.

A logo alone cannot do that; a consistent brand can. When everything looks and sounds like you, people trust you faster and buy more.

What to do about it

If you have a logo but not a brand, that is the gap worth closing. I build the whole brand, not just the mark. Start with a free audit and I will show you where yours is inconsistent.
